Hearts 4 Hannah Year 8!
It’s that time of year again…this sweet baby would have turned 12 on Feb. 15th. If you would like to help honor Hannah Grace’s life and memory, here are some ways you can get involved.
1) Hearts 4 Hannah annual blood drive- this will be held on Monday, Feb. 13th from 2-7 at Lowell City Hall (216 N. Lincoln St., Lowell 72745). Walk ins are always welcome, or you can visit http://www.redcrossblood.org/rcbmobile/drive/chooseDonationTime.jsp to schedule a time. Also, Red Cross has a great new feature called RapidPass where you can to the website (http://www.redcrossblood.org/) and answer all the questions the day of the blood drive. You still visit the little area to get your iron checked, etc., but it makes the whole process much faster. You can print out your RapidPass or show it on your phone! The need for blood donors is huge- we learned that after watching Hannah get numerous transfusions and platelets. You can literally help save someone’s life.
2) Our project this year will be a book drive to help us get Tyson Elementary’s mobile library off the ground. I’m the assistant principal at our wonderful little elementary school, and one of our goals has been to take the library to our students over the summer. Our school has a poverty rate of around 79%, and most of our students do not have books at home. Let me tell ya- Hannah Grace Crumby loved her some books! Pinkalicious and Purplelicious were two of her favorites right before she got sick. The wonderful PTA has already purchased the cutest little trailer to pull around our neighborhoods- now we just need to fill it with books. Please donate any new or gently used books- you can drop them off at Tyson (1967 Chapman Road, Springdale AR 72762), or contact me at email@example.com to make other arrangements. Amazon would be a great source to use to choose some great, reasonably priced books and have them sent directly to the school (I heart Amazon!). We can use books on levels ranging from preK up through young adult chapter books.
3) You can also participate in a fundraiser sponsored by an awesome 31 consultant- Jessica Skordal. She has graciously offered to help us raise money to purchase books..and your donation will also allow us to have some super cute bags to use with our mobile library. Please see the details below:
4) If you are unable to participate in any of the above options, just do something nice for someone and maybe tell them the story of Hannah Grace and what she meant to this world. I’m most encouraged by the impact she has had on eternity.
How we miss her and cling to the promise that we will see her little freckled face again one day.
