A Weeping Christian: When Faith and Grief Collide

A blog by Kimberly Crumby

Another 5 Minute Friday post…

Brave is saying yes when you really, really, REALLY want to say no.

Especially when your heart has been broken by saying yes.

When a heart has been completely shattered and carefully mended by God more than once, it can become so easy to guard it…hide it…seal it. But that is not what God has called me to. He is asking me, yet again, to put my tender spirit at risk. Scared…breathless…awe-struck…questioning…these are just a few of the emotions staring me in the face.

Does it sometimes seem that God aims a target right at that one thing that really causes you to stop in your tracks? It seems that way to me. But what can seem the opposite of loving is really a beautiful picture of grace. No matter how deep the wound when that target finds its mark, he is right there. Ready to hold us…ready to heal us.

Brave is answering yes even while your voice quivers with fear. It’s trusting. Hard. Worth it.

I don’t believe you can experience the heights of joy until you go through the depths of despair. The only way to do that is to keep stepping out in faith. Trusting, in thankfulness. Searching for God’s plans in your journey. You are seeking. He will provide everything you need. God will honor your love and committment to Him as you walk this road. I am learning from watching you. God is using you in mighty ways. Love you.

You need to put these in a book. Short. To the point. Perfect for busy people.
